Today in class we finished up the rebuttals for the marcus garvey speech. I dont believe in the going back to Africa. I personally like my American life. And I dont believe in this light skinned, dark skinned thing, we are all the same race, African American.

There is no midterm exam. Your midterm grade will be an average of all the assignments due. Please write 2 pages on what you contributed to the debate and make some points in defense of your team's postion. Thank you, Desiree and Juanisha, for your posts.
Today we let all those who didn't do there persuasive sheepches. We didn't do our closing arugements for the debate, so is it still required for our class to do the two page assignment?
Today in class we discussed the 5 min. speech's. They were very good. One student talked about giving Mexicans the same rights as we have, as far as giving them the same pay rate. I think that we should give mexicans the same pay rate as other americans because 9 times out of 10 they are doing jobs that we as americans didnt want to do. And they are known for being really hard workers. Another student talked about are drug dealers really bad guys or are they just doing what they have to do to survive. Personally I dont feel like they are bad guys because they dont make people buy the drugs. And we can never lock up all the drug dealers in the world and people are going to find a way to get high. Some men that are felons cant find a job and they still have families to take care of so they have no choice but to sell drugs to provide.

Thurs. March 12th I did my persuasive speech on Payday Lenders. I was against them because the interest that they charge are ridiculous and is a debt entrapment. Some of the other topics were safe sex and giving blood. For some reason it keeps tellin me that I have the wrong password when I know that its right! Maybe im not doing something right. So this is Desiree' Nazareth
TOday in class Dr.Comprone went over terms in regards to giving speeches and things you should do while giving a speech. Also gave different scenarios and asked what we would do in those situations. And we also briefly talked about the comment that President Obama made on the Jay Leno show.lol This is Desiree' Nazareth

Today in class a student gave her informative speech on Diabetes. The reason she chose to do her speech on this topic is because not too long ago she was diagnosed with Diabetes. The speech was very good and informative and also touching. This is Desiree' Nazareth
Hello this is Saleem Sullivan from Speech tuesdays and Thursday. The last couple of classes we have been during speeches. i am enjoying class so far.
Today we did our arguments on why the war should and shouldnt stop in Afghanistan. My group argued that we shouldnt pull the troops out because we (America) should start what we finished. Especially in recongnition of our fallen soldiers.

I agree with Desiree and all the other students that said they dont think we should go back to Africa. Africa is where my ancestors began not where I am going to end. I appreciate them for everything but that was for them not me. Im fine right here in America
